It’s difficult to write a proper tribute to my grandad Sam that will do him justice really. He was a man who adored Lisa and I and would do anything for us. When we were little and used to go and stay with grandma and grandad in the holidays we always would set out his breakfast dishes so it was all ready for him when he got up in the morning and then wait for him to come home from work by sitting looking out of the window. He always said what a lovely sight to be met my two beautiful girls waiting for him. Lisa and I would hide and he would come up the stairs loudly saying fe fy fo fum I smell the blood of an Englishman which we used to squeal at and he would always find us and tickle us making us scream with laughter. Taking us to Buxton to play golf which grandma wasn’t the best at which he would tell her and she would always reply ‘shut up sam’ and pretend to hit him with the golf club! Going to Mac Donald’s on our shopping trip to Stockport to buy clothes and going to Mac Donald’s for lunch and grandad ordered a tea and was repulsed when it was served on a plastic cup not a China one and he refused to drink it which we found so funny! Going out for lunch to the New Inn and he always said how he would never manage to eat a whole dinner but then did with his half a pint! The waitress and in fact all the women In boots and Morrison’s admiring him and he lapped it up! Flirting with all my friends who absolutely loved him and who have sent so many messages saying what an amazing man he was. I think it’s a big tribute to both my grandad and grandma that your grandchildren have named their own children after you both. I hope you are settled being with grandma again as you always missed her so much and my only regret is not telling you that I loved you more. Fly high grandad with grandma I miss you so much and have such happy memories of times we had together. Love you xxxxx
