I had only 1 chance to meet Grandad, it was in April 2013. He complimented my mustache while I was visiting saying he respected me more because of it...truly a gentleman of the highest caliber. Mind you, this was a time before I learned my face is better without one and it meant the world to me... Few people have I met in my life that are as regimented as he (though in retrospect it is obvious where Val and Wendy's capacity for learning comes from), from his avid walking to his overnight oats, things that could only further add to such a good and healthy life. He taught me what overnight oats even were and how he makes his. Admittedly, I occasionally enjoy a hearty bowl and think of him with his bowl on the counter with a tissue on top. Additionally, never have I met such a voracious reader in my life! The man read anything and everything! He asked me if I wanted to have any of the books he finished, there were books in the middle of a series he didn't know about, fictions, biographies, you name it. I couldn't keep up if I tried and forever will aspire to his level the rest of my days. He left a lasting impression on me and I will always be thankful. Our loved ones are never truly dead, if we find a way to remember them. Samuel Burke, you will continue to live on. With caring thoughts and sympathy, Stephen Bivins
